There is plenty to see and do in Wichita. Here are some of the attractions you’ll want to visit on your vacation.

Area Attractions

Wichita is one of the most family-friendly locations in the entire US. It has some of the most incredible attractions and museums such as the Sedgwick County Zoo, an educational highlight for nature lovers. You’ll actually find educational activities and family-friendly attractions in every corner of the city. The Wichita Art Museumis high on the list with its thousands of pieces of art on display. If you want to get in touch with more nature, stop by The Wichita Gardens. This is a serene and calm place whether you have a green thumb or not. Along with relaxing on the lush green areas, you can become a volunteer. They also have a wide variety of camps and classes that teach you about horticulture.

Don’t forget to stop by the Frank Lloyd Wright’s Allen-Lambe House. This architectural landmark was built in 1915 by Frank Lloyd Wright himself. It’s one of the last prairie houses in the country. People consider this house one of his best works.

There are always plenty of free and cheap things to do in Wichita, no matter the time of year. There are free and cheap activities for both adults and kids. Most of those activities range from arts and culture to DIY and entertainment to fitness. Starting Monday, May 27, all of Wichita’s swimming pools will be open for the summer. They’re open all day for just three bucks.

Starting Tuesday, May 28, kids can eat cheap or free at numerous locations throughout the city. If you want to escape the crowds, you can enjoy a five-dollar movie at AMC Northrock 14. Other fun activities include bus tours, live music, and the Wichita River Festival. This event runs from Friday, May 31 through Saturday, July 8. Riverfest is one of the best and cheapest attractions for activities, entertainment, and live music for all ages.
